Secondly, please note that the Masai Mara National Reserve requires 4×4 vehicles for entry. Of course, standard saloons are not suitable for park interiors.

The minimum rental period for self drive hire at Bamm Tours is three days. Any hire of less than two days must be accompanied by a professional driver.
That is to say that self-drive is not available for very short one-day rentals. One full day is calculated on a 24-hour basis, and the vehicle must be collected and returned during normal business hours.
Extended hours beyond the agreed return time are charged at KES 500 per hour, depending on the vehicle type.
Weekly and monthly options are available at progressively discounted rates, making longer rentals significantly more cost-effective for expats, consultants, and long-stay visitors.
Fuel is not included in Bamm Tours’ self-drive rates. Vehicles are collected and must be returned at the same fuel level; either empty or full, depending on how the car is issued.
Bamm Tours strongly recommends using Shell or Total petrol stations throughout your hire period. Insurance, however, is covered through a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Loss Damage Waiver (LDW), which protect against accident damage and theft.
Your personal excess liability is capped at 10% of the vehicle’s value. Note that CDW does not cover damage to tyres, bumpers, headlights, interiors, wheels, undercarriage, roof, or windscreen — these remain the hirer’s responsibility.

Clients planning intercity one-way trips — such as Nairobi to Mombasa, or Nairobi to Eldoret — should inform the team at the time of booking so that the correct vehicle, insurance cover, and one-way fee arrangement can be confirmed in advance. The price of a one-way rental applies, and it depends on the type of vehicle hire.
Cities currently served include Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Nanyuki. Vehicle delivery within Nairobi is available at a flat fee of KES 1,000 for clients who prefer the car to be brought directly to their location.
In the event of a mechanical issue, the team dispatches assistance promptly. Should the vehicle be beyond roadside repair, a replacement is arranged to keep your journey on track.

It is also important to note that the hirer must not hand the vehicle over to any driver not registered with Bamm Tours. Doing so voids the insurance cover and makes the hirer fully liable for any resulting damage or loss.
Adding a professional Bamm Tours driver to your existing self drive hire is straightforward. Driver costs are KES 3,000 per day within Nairobi, covering 06:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.
For all other locations across Kenya, the driver rate is KES 5,000 per day from 06:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs, exclusive of the driver’s meals and accommodation. Overtime beyond these hours is charged at KES 1,000 per hour up to midnight for both Nairobi and upcountry engagements.
