Van hire in Kenya ranges from KES 9,000 per day for a 7-seater Toyota Wish to KES 45,000 per day for a Mercedes Viano executive van. A standard 14-seater Toyota Hiace is KES18,000/- per day within Nairobi, including fuel and a professional driver.

Yes, for travel within Nairobi and for airport transfers. For upcountry and multi-day trips, we either include a set mileage allowance or quote a per-kilometre rate, agreed in writing before departure. We tell you which applies on the quote itself rather than after the trip.

Park entry fees, Expressway tolls, parking charges and driver accommodation on overnight upcountry trips. Everything else, including fuel within the agreed range, the driver, insurance and maintenance, is in the price we quote.

For trips where the driver overnights away from base, a subsistence allowance of KES3,000/- per night covers meals and accommodation. We state this on the quote upfront rather than raising it mid-trip, which is a common complaint in this industry.

Nairobi day hire includes 50 kilometres. Beyond that, we charge per extra kilometre, agreed in advance. Long-distance and multi-day trips are quoted as fixed packages, so mileage is not a concern.

Very low quotes usually exclude fuel, exclude the driver’s allowance, or use vehicles without valid PSV or TSV insurance covering all passengers. Ask any provider for their NTSA inspection sticker and their passenger insurance certificate. Ours are available on request.

No. Under NTSA rules and PSV insurance terms, 14-seater vans are hired with a licensed professional driver only.

This is not a Bamm restriction; it applies across the market. In practice, it works in your favour, because our drivers know the routes, handle roadblocks and parking, and let your whole group travel together. If you want self-drive, our 7 and 8-seater vans and SUVs are available on that basis.

Yes. Every van carries a valid NTSA inspection certificate, a functioning speed governor, comprehensive insurance covering all passengers, and, where the trip is tourism-related, TSV licensing with TRA-vetted drivers. Documentation is available before you travel.

Every driver holds a valid PSV or TSV endorsement, a certificate of good conduct from the DCI, and has passed our internal defensive driving assessment. Our tour drivers are also trained guides who speak English and can brief you on wildlife and routes.

We dispatch a replacement vehicle from the nearest of our six offices in Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani, Nakuru, Eldoret or Nanyuki. Having physical branches across the country is the reason we can do this within hours rather than leaving you stranded.

Under 8 passengers, a Toyota Noah, Voxy or Wish, a Nissan Serena, Toyota Alphard or Vellfire. 9 to 14, a Toyota Hiace or Nissan Caravan.

Over 14, a 22- seater Coaster Bus or 29-seater bus is more economical than two vans. Always allow one spare seat for luggage comfort.

With all 14 seats occupied, expect room for 5 to 7 medium suitcases. For a full group with airport luggage, we recommend either a high-roof Hiace with a roof rack or two vehicles. Tell us your bag count when requesting a quote, and we will size it correctly rather than let you discover the problem at the airport.

It can reach the gates on tarmac, but a standard 14-seater has no pop-up roof and limited ground clearance, so it is poor for game drives.

For an actual safari, we recommend our pop-top Toyota Land Cruiser safari van, an 8-seater Toyota Hiace, or a Land Rover Defender. We operate both, so we can put you in a Hiace for the road transfer and a safari vehicle for game viewing if that suits your budget better.

Yes. Every van has working air conditioning, which matters on the coast, plus reclining seats with seatbelts. Charging points, WiFi and cool boxes can be arranged on request.
